I’m fascinated by the interconnectedness of life and see the tessellation as a geometric way to express that perfection.
Created for a renovation build at a trout farm in rural NC by Restoration Wild, a tv show on Animal Planet that specialized in repurposing found items on a property. This frame was made from boards of an historic barn with stains from hanging tobacco across them.
Includes 7 original tessellating shapes, symbolism and story. I was impacted by the narrative mosaic work in St. Marks Cathedral in Venice where the Bible (only in Latin at the time) was taught via mosaic stories throughout the walls and ceiling. Specifically the Creation Dome was my favorite….
